Apple has started rolling out the second beta of macOS Tahoe 26.2 to developers, just one week after the release of macOS Tahoe 26.2 Beta 1. It seems that Apple is on a weekly release schedule for these betas. As with any point 1 or point 2 update, Apple has added another useful feature in the second developer beta of macOS Tahoe 26.2. The feature is available for video calls and is called ‘Edge Light’, which improves lighting by adding a ring light on your Mac Display. As noted by TechRadar, a Mac from 2024 and later will be able to automatically detect low-light conditions to turn on ‘Edge Light’ automatically. Apple has also added a slider to manually adjust between warm and cool light. The feature works with the power of Apple’s Neural Engine, which helps detect faces and the surrounding light conditions to adjust the intensity and the size of the ring-light-like effect. Edge Light is present on Beta 2 alongside Apple’s other video effects like Portrait Mode, Studio Light, and Voice Isolation. Users who are registered as a developer on www.developer.apple.com can opt in to receive beta updates by going into Settings>General>Software Update>Beta Updates and selecting Developer Beta. Do note that these versions are not stable and are meant for testing purposes. How excited are you about these upcoming software updates with useful new features?
