The Super Bowl is already a big enough streaming event for the sports world as it is, but did you know you can actually stream it this year in 4K?
That’s right. The folks over at NBCUniversal have announced that this year’s Super Bowl will be available to watch in 4K. In fact, it will be broadcast in 4K HDR.
This year, the Super Bowl will be played at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 8, on NBC. It is between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.
So how do you stream the game in 4K HDR quality?
First of all, the most affordable route to do this will be through Peacock. It currently costs $10.99 a month and be subscribed to via in-app purchases through the App Store too.
From there, you will also need to be using a 4K-compatible device such as the Apple TV 4K third generation. Download and install the Peacock app to said Apple TV 4K, sign into your account, and when the day and time come, you will be able to stream pre-game and live coverage of the game in 4K.
By subscribing to Peacock for the month, it would give users access to other live sporting events being broadcast and streamed live in 4K, including the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Another method will be for those who have YouTube TV with the 4K Plus add-on for the additional $9.99 a month. By having that, it will give them access to the NBC Sports 4K channel that will be showing the game live in 4K.
Normally we would feature Fubo, but since it is currently in a carriage dispute with NBCUniversal which does include the national NBC station, local affiliates, and NBC Sports 4K channel, it will sadly be unable to carry the Super Bowl this year, as this is being published.
