According to Tim Culpan, a former Bloomberg reporter, he stated in the latest edition of his Culpium newsletter that the next-generation MacBook Neo would feature the A19 Pro chip. This has been expected as the current MacBook Neo features the A18 Pro chip. One limitation the current MacBook Neo has is that it features 8GB of RAM, so the next MacBook Neo could address this issue by increasing the amount of RAM, since the A19 Pro chip features 12GB of RAM.

Having more memory is more than a welcome upgrade; even the M4 iPad Air, which launched last month, featured 12GB of RAM. As you may know, the A19 Pro chip was introduced in both the iPhone Air and the iPhone 17 Pro models, so they both have 12GB of memory; however, the variant on the iPhone Air has one less GPU core. Since the MacBook Neo features the binned A18 Pro chip (5-core GPU), it should come as no surprise that the next MacBook Neo will feature that binned A19 Pro chip with the same number of GPU cores. This has been common practice for Apple to recycle binned chips to use for later products.

The MacBook Neo has been Apple’s newest entry-level model in the lineup, bringing the entire Mac experience and optimized performance at an unbelievable price. It seems to be a huge success as Tim Cook stated that Apple had its “best launch week ever” with many customers who were either first-time Mac buyers or PC switchers. So much so that the MacBook Neo has far exceeded Apple’s expectations, and with demand surpassing supply, the MacBook Neo has been backordered, with shipping dates slipping into two to three weeks.

The MacBook Neo starts at $599 with 256GB of storage and $699 with 512GB of storage and Touch ID.
