Today is Opening Day, also known as the first day of the regular season in the MLB. With that, Sling TV has officially launched both MLB Network and MLB StrikeZone on their service.
MLB Network and StrikeZone will be add-ons in the Sports Extra package. The Sports Extra package does cost an additional $5 per month for Sling Orange customers and $10 per month extra for Sling Blue customers, on top of the regular $25 per month for the Sling Orange or Sling Blue plans.
For those who do not know, MLB Network is a network made by the MLB that covers the MLB 24/7 and StrikeZone is a lot like the NFL RedZone channel, where it shows games where things are happening or are about to happen.
Dana McLeod, vice president of programming at Sling TV, had this to say about the new channels being added to their service:
“With MLB season finally upon us, we are thrilled to give customers even more choices with the launch of MLB Network and Strike Zone in our Sports Extra add-on…MLB Network and Strike Zone offer programming that die-hard baseball fans live for and bring highly-requested content to Sling customers not only during baseball season but also during spring training, postseason and beyond.”
Sling TV is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac (via the Google Chrome browser).
