This week is National Streaming Week, according to Roku, ironically. We all love to stream our favorite TV shows and movies, so this should not be hard for any of you to do since it is the new normal, after all. I mean, who seriously has and uses cable and satellite in 2019?

TV Shows:

  • Last Man Standing: Although this is a show that we have recommended often with our Appleosophy TV Picks articles, this is my favorite TV show on network TV today. It stars Tim Allen and Nancy Travis. The show can be streamed on Hulu (seasons 1-7) and the FOX Now app (season 7).

  • How I Met Your Mother: Another one of the great sitcoms of the 21st Century. The story of the show is about how Ted Mosby (played by Josh Radnor) meets his wife. The series also has the talented acting of Neil Patrick Harris too. How I Met Your
Mother can be streamed in its entirety on Hulu.

  • Game of Thrones: Looking for a reason to stream all of the episodes before the series finale on this upcoming Sunday? This might be the week for you! Seasons 1-8 other than the last episode can be streamed from the HBO Now and HBO Go streaming services.

  • The Big Bang Theory: Speaking of series finales, this show will be ending on Thursday, May 16, this week. To watch all of season 12, you can stream the episodes on CBS All Access. To stream older seasons, check out the TBS app and on-demand to do so.

  • Drake and Josh: This is one of the most beloved shows in Nickelodeon’s history. The good news is that it can be streamed from Hulu too.

  • Spongebob Squarepants: We recently wrote an article about this, but for your convenience, you can stream this show from the Nickelodeon app with your TV provider credentials. On top of that, if you have a live TV streaming service that has the channel, you can access it from Nickelodeon on-demand. Pluto TV also recently launched their own Nick channel that airs episodes of Spongebob for free! Prime Video currently has seasons 1-4 of the service available to stream too.

  • Modern Family: The newest season of the show can be streamed on Hulu. However, the issue is the other seasons. The only way to stream them legally would be to purchase old seasons from iTunes. Either that or DVR them when USA Network airs reruns.

  • This Is Us: All three seasons of this series can be streamed from Hulu and the NBC app.

  • Doctor Who (2005 series): All 10 seasons of the show can be streamed on Prime Video.

  • 13 Reasons Why: This show is supposed to coming back for season three sometime this year, so what better excuse to catch up and binge-watch the previous two seasons to prepare for the third season. The show is a Netflix Original, therefore, can be streamed from Netflix.

  • The Newsroom: Want to see broadcast journalism before it all became “fake news?” This Aaron Sorkin show is a great example of that and stars the great Jeff Daniels too. The series can be streamed on HBO Now, HBO Go and Prime Video.

  • MASH: A classic TV show that has been around for decades in rerun syndication can be streamed in its entirety on Hulu. Best of all, the episodes are available in HD.

  • The Waltons: A show about a family living life during The Depression is available to stream in all nine seasons on Amazon Prime Video. Like with MASH, all episodes of the show have been remastered and are available in HD.

  • Silicon Valley: Probably a show that a lot of us watch since it does primarily deal with the tech industry in Silicon Valley and makes a lot of tech-related jokes that only we will understand. The show can be streamed on both HBO Now and HBO Go.

  • The Office: The last one for this TV show list is all about one of NBC’s best shows and comedies in the network’s history. All nine seasons of the show can be streamed on Netflix.

  • Friends: Another one of the most popular shows to stream on Netflix that cost them $100 million to bring back for just this year is another pick to stream this week on Netflix.

  • Home Improvement: This was Tim Allen’s big break in Hollywood and made him known as an iconic 90’s father and the Tool Man. All eight seasons of the series can be found and streamed on Hulu.

Movies:

  • The Social Network: A great movie about the beginning and history of Facebook. The movie is currently available to stream on STARZ.

  • Steve Jobs (2015 movie): This movie shows us the true history and legacy of Steve Jobs, the Apple co-founder and former CEO. The movie can be watched on Cinemax GO.

  • Good Will Hunting: An excellent movie about a Sheldon Cooper-like prodigy, starring Matt Damon. It also features the great music of Elliott Smith too! This movie can be streamed on Netflix.

  • Toy Story 3: Looking to watch the newest Toy Story film before Toy Story 4 comes out next month? Toy Story 3 can be streamed right from the Starz app.

  • Molly’s Game: A movie about the life of Molly Bloom is available to stream on the Showtime app.

  • Dumb and Dumber: A breakout role for both Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, and an American classic, is currently available to stream on Netflix.

  • Get Smart: One of Steve Carrell’s best movies ever is on Netflix. The movie also features Anne Hathaway.

  • The Devil Wears Prada: Speaking of Hathaway, one of her other big movies is currently available to stream on HBO Now and HBO Go.

All of the TV shows, movies, and streaming services can be streamed from the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac. Happy streaming this week everyone!
