We reported a few days ago that Sling TV had rebranded its old ESPN ACC channel, which is now called “ACCNX” that stands for “ACC Network Xtra.”

The channel was recently changed to go along with the new changes from ESPN and their new ACC Network, which is going to launch on August 22. With that said, if Sling TV and DISH (Sling TV’s parent company) do not reach a new agreement with Disney (owner of ESPN) by August 22, the official launch day of the new ACC Network, ACCNX will be pulled from Sling TV’s channel lineup.

This will primarily impact those who have the Sling Orange plan, as that is the plan that has the ESPN channels, whereas Sling Blue is known for having other sports networks like FS1 and NBCSN.

Normally this would not be a big deal, but given the fact that the college football season starts this Saturday, August 24, it is absolutely critical for Sling TV, DISH, and Disney to get this agreement signed and done so that fans and users on the Sling Orange plan can have ACC Network and ACCNX just in time for the 2019 college football season.

Right now, the only live TV streaming services that have agreements to get and have ACC Network when it launches this week are Hulu with Live TV, PlayStation Vue and YouTube TV.
