Last week, we published an article about the top apps you can gift for the Mac during the holiday season. Now we are going to focus on apps that you can gift for those in your family and friends that may want something a little different for their holiday.
These are the following apps we recommend gifting this holiday season:
- Tweetbot: This is hands-down, one of the best third-party Twitter apps in the App Store. Every tweet is in chronological order and the app has an excellent design and UI to it. The app currently costs $4.99 in the App Store and is available on both the iPhone and iPad.
- Deliveries: Do you know someone who orders a lot of items from Amazon or online shopping as a whole? This is the app for them and only costs $4.99 in the App Store and is available on the iPhone and iPad.
- Pixelmator Photo: If you know someone who likes to edit photos and happens to edit them on their iPad often, Pixelmator Photo is a great photo editing app and is cheaper than the monthly fee of using alternatives like the Photoshop Express Photo Editor. Pixelmator Pro is only available on the iPad and costs $4.99 in the App Store.
- CARROT Weather: For those that want a different type of weather app, CARROT Weather is the one for you. Users can choose different types of data sources and get some great humor from the app too. It has three tiers in pricing, which can be found here and which features they have. The app itself costs $4.99 in the App Store.
- Dark Sky: Want all of the accuracy of CARROT Weather without the yearly subscription? If so, then Dark Sky is the weather app gift for you. It has a one-time purchase of $3.99 in the App Store, is the top-rated the top premium weather app in the App Store and is available on the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
- Apollo for Reddit: Over the past couple of years, this has been one of my favorite apps in the App Store since it makes Reddit look and feel so much better, and I think it has a better Dark Mode than the official Reddit app. Also, this app was designed by someone who used to work for Apple, so needless to say that it is a pretty great app. Apollo is a free app in the App Store but does have the Apollo Ultra that you can gift that will allow the user to get notifications from the app and other cool features too.
Now I know that this article does not have as many apps as the Mac version. I wanted to recommend apps that I have used a lot or ones that have top reviews from others.
