Sling TV in recent weeks has been adding a lot of free content to their customers. A couple weeks ago, they had a free preview for the Hallmark Movies Now streaming service and last weekend they had a free preview of the Lifetime Movies channel.
Needless to say, Sling TV is really trying to get more people to sign up for their streaming services.
Today, the company added the FilmRise channel, which contains a variety of movies and TV shows available on-demand for users of the service.
Movies include Stuck in Love, Bernie, Labor Pains and others. The TV shows available on-demand are 3rd Rock from the Sun, 21 Jump Street, Kitchen Nightmares and Shameless, as well as others too.
A statement from Sling TV’s blog by Dana McLeod, Vice President of Programming at Sling TV says this:
“Today, we’re offering Slingers even more fan-favorite shows and movies than ever before – at absolutely no cost. The launch of FilmRise brings hit television shows and popular movies to the service so Sling Orange subscribers and Sling Blue subscribers now have access to hundreds of new titles. Even better, FilmRise content is now available in Sling TV’s free experience on Roku devices, so anyone can watch action-packed thrillers, comedies, romances, documentaries and more – even without a base subscription to Sling.
Available beginning today, FilmRise adds more than 300 movies and shows to Sling TV. Slingers can watch a variety of classic TV series like 3rd Rock from the Sun and Kitchen Nightmares. Or, check out movies like The Illusionist starring Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti and Jessica Biel, or Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, featuring Nicholas Cage and Eva Mendes…”
The FilmRise channel is available on both the Sling Orange and Sling Blue Plans. Sling TV itself costs $25 per month (for one of each plans) and is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
