Earlier today, 91mobiles shared CAD drawings of what the supposed “Apple Watch Pro” could look like. Now, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has more details about the Apple Watch Pro, including exclusive bands and faces.
Similar to the Nike Sport Bands/Loops for the Nike models, the upcoming bands for the Apple Watch Pro will be designed specifically for extreme sports. There’s no word on whether these bands will work with existing models such as the upcoming Series 8. However, Gurman previously mentioned that old watch bands will be compatible with the Apple Watch Pro, notwithstanding the imperfect fit.
The upcoming watch faces designed for the Apple Watch Pro will show more fitness details to users. Apple has offered exclusive watch faces on other models before. For example, Nike and Hermès faces remain exclusive to the Nike and Hermès models, respectively. The cellular models even have a watch face named “Explorer”, which will be updated with the modern complications with watchOS 9. The Series 7 also features watch faces, “Contour” and “Modular Duo”, which are designed for the larger screen.
When it comes to the design of the Apple Watch Pro, we should expect rounded sides instead of the flat sides that have been previously rumored. The screen will be flatter for a more durable design, and a customizable programmable button will appear on the left side.
What do you think about the exclusive bands and watch faces for the Apple Watch Pro? Let us know in the comments below.
This isn’t covered in the CAD drawings, but the new set of bands for the Apple Watch Pro is going to be pretty wide ranging and play into the extreme sports theme. There will also be some pretty info dense faces for fitness metrics. https://t.co/jSD0KZGe1b
