We have reported that Kroger-owned grocery stores have started accepting Apple Pay inside their stores now.
This went even further the other day when Twitter users started reporting that Kroger stores alone had begun accepting Apple Pay in them.
However, we’re seeing on Reddit that even more Kroger-owned stores. Previously, it was just King Soopers, Ralph’s, and Quality Food Centers (QFC). Now we’re hearing that Kroger-owned stores like Fred Meyer have also begun accepting Apple Pay.

We are still waiting to hear an official announcement from Kroger or their owned stores about this change. There has also been no word on other Kroger-owned stores like Dillon’s, Harris Teeter, and Fry’s and what the status is for those stores accepting Apple Pay soon.
If you go to any of the stores mentioned above and still do not see Apple Pay support there right now, it could be a slow launch for getting the payment method available in the stores. Apple Pay acceptance can happen in stages for companies, that is nothing new.
So far, it has been a good year for Apple Pay. Lowe’s began accepting Apple Pay through its app and Apple has launched Apple Pay Later, which seems to be going through a quiet and gradual launch stage.
