With Elon Musk now at the helm of Twitter, which is now called “X,” we are now seeing that Apple has allowed for quite a significant change in its App Store.

Due to the change in name from Twitter to “X,” Apple has enabled the app to simply have a one-letter name which was previously not allowed in the App Store. By pivoting to the “X,” name for Twitter, it means that the once-popular blue bird is no longer on the app.

We saw the “X” app icon change over this past weekend, with the removal of the blue bird and the additional of the white “X” with the black background.

When it comes to Apple allowing Musk’s “X” to now have this one-letter name, it is unknown whether or not Apple is changing its policy on that as a company or if it is making a one-time exception for Musk and “X.”
