It’s that time of the year, and as always, YouTuber Marques Brownlee has held its annual Smartphone Awards, where he awards the superlatives to several smartphones that were released this year.
Last year, none of the iPhone models received an award; however, the iPhone takes the spotlight again this year as Brownlee awarded the iPhone 15 Pro as the “best camera” for this year’s Awards. Based on his experiences, he highlighted that the 15 Pro offered the most solid overall performance when it comes to taking photos and videos in addition to the newly introduced Log recording.
The iPhone 15 Pro offers several features that pro photographers and videographers will appreciate, including ProRes, ProRAW, 5x optical zoom in on the Pro Max, and faster USB-C speeds for transferring massive ProRes footage and recording via an external drive. Brownlee also ran its annual blind smartphone camera test online, and the results were that the iPhone 15 Pro handled low-light photos the best.
Brownlee also gave the best battery superlative to the iPhone 15 Plus for its overall battery experience. Thanks to the traditional 60Hz display that consumes less power, the iPhone 15 Plus can last longer for the day than most of its competitors.
If you’re planning to upgrade your iPhone this Christmas, you should consider the iPhone 15 Plus (read our review here) if you prefer a longer battery life for everyday tasks. For pro camera features, you should consider the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
