While many of Apple’s products have been assembled in China, there are a few notable exceptions, including the Mac Pro assembled in the United States and the AirPods Pro assembled in Vietnam. Now, Apple has moved its assembly lines for the iPhone 15 to Brazil to mitigate high import taxes.

This shift in the supply chain applies to only the standard 6.1-inch iPhone 15, so the rest of the lineup is still assembled in China. This includes the iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

For identifying iPhone models, iPhone 15 models assembled in Brazil will have the identifier “BR/A” in the model number. The models imported from China will have either “BE/A” or “BZ/A”.

What’s next for the iPhone lineup is likely a new color for at least the iPhone 15 and the introduction of the iPhone 16 lineup this fall.
