Just yesterday, Walmart started to offer the M1 MacBook Air at a significantly lower price of $699. That was the lowest price that we saw until today as Best Buy now also offers that same machine for an even lower price at $649. The base configuration offers 8GB of unified memory and 256GB of storage.

When Apple introduced the new MacBook Air models with the M3 chip, the company also discontinued the M1 MacBook Air. As that machine is always a great option to do basic everyday tasks on the Mac, several resellers are now clearing out the remaining supply by offering them at a significantly lower price than the original MSRP of $999 that Apple sold for that machine before it was finally discontinued.

The M1 MacBook Air was introduced in November 2020 as one of the first Macs with Apple Silicon. Apple Silicon has been a huge breakthrough for the Mac as it offers great performance while using less power, hence longer battery life. We can assure you that the M1 MacBook Air is a great option for those who are new to the Mac or simply want an entry-level Mac without all the extra bells and whistles, and that machine will support many major software updates for years to come.

As the M1 MacBook Air is now on clearance at Best Buy, you should consider buying this machine as it’ll likely be available while supplies last.

The M2 MacBook Air is also available at Apple starting at $999, and the M3 MacBook Air is also available starting at $1,099.
