Apple rolls out macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 with bug fixes and security improvements

Apple has started rolling out macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 to the public with bug fixes and security improvements.

This update comes two weeks after the release of macOS Sequoia 15.4 which debuted with a new Sketch Style option in Image Playground, Mail Categorization, and more. Apple keeps refining the software experience with every 15.x.x. update whilst also fixing issues.

macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 includes necessary fixes to two security flaws, according for Apple:

CoreAudio:

Impact: Processing an audio stream in a maliciously crafted media file may result in code execution. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been exploited in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals on iOS.

Description: A memory corruption issue was addressed with improved bounds checking.

CVE-2025-31200: Apple and Google Threat Analysis Group

RPAC:

Impact: An attacker with arbitrary read and write capability may be able to bypass Pointer Authentication. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been exploited in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals on iOS.

Description: This issue was addressed by removing the vulnerable code.

macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 is available on all devices that support macOS Sequoia 15.0 including:

  • MacBook Air (2020 and later)
  • MacBook Pro (2018 and later)
  • iMac (2019 and later)
  • iMac Pro (2017)
  • Mac mini (2018 and later)
  • Mac Studio (2022 and later)
  • Mac Pro (2019 and later)
