Latest dummy models reveal more details on what the “iPhone Ultra” could look like

Today, leaker Sonny Dickson, who has shared images of several dummy models for past iPhone models, is back again. This time, he posted images of the dummy models for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models and the highly anticipated “iPhone Ultra.” And yes, that will now be the potential name of Apple’s upcoming passport-style foldable phone, as claimed by Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station. We expect Apple to announce those models this coming fall, so you’d have to wait until early next year (sometime within the March-April timeframe) for the regular iPhone 18 and potentially the iPhone Air 2.

Going back to the report, keep in mind that those dummy models may not reveal the final design for those upcoming smartphones, but rather, they should be used as “design schematics” for case manufacturers to design cases for the said devices in advance of their launch.

While the dummy iPhone 18 Pro models are what we expect with a similar design as the current iPhone 17 Pro, but with a smaller Dynamic Island. The dummy model for the “iPhone Ultra” reveals even more new design details. Since the “iPhone Ultra” does not appear to feature a unibody design with a glass cutout for MagSafe charging, the “iPhone Ultra” could feature an all-glass back, similar to that of the iPhone Air. The camera plateau’s design is also similar to that of the iPhone Air, with its pill-shaped design, and it’s continuous with the glass back. However, unlike the iPhone Air, the camera plateau of the “iPhone Ultra” spans about 3/4ths of the width of the device when in closed model. The “iPhone Ultra” is also expected to feature two rear cameras, presumably the Ultra Wide and the Main cameras.

Other features we expect for the “iPhone Ultra” are a 7.8-inch inner display with a more square 4:3 aspect ratio, a 5.5-inch outer display, Touch ID instead of Face ID, and a breakthrough display with no visible creases.

The “iPhone Ultra” could be priced between $2,000 and $2,500 (USD).
