We’re less than 24 hours away from Apple’s opening keynote for its annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), and we’ve had a lot of rumors on what Apple could announce tomorrow. Without further ado, let’s dive into the top things that we could see tomorrow.
Software Platforms
Just like clockwork, the star of the show will have to be a sneak peek at all of Apple’s operating systems. Last year marked the start of a unified versioning number scheme based on car models. In other words, since last year saw the introduction of operating system version 26, we’ll more than certainly see Apple introducing version 27 of those operating systems. Here’s the list of software platforms Apple will announce tomorrow:
- iOS 27
- watchOS 27
- tvOS 27
- macOS 27
- visionOS 27
- iPadOS 27
While we could see some new enhancements shared across multiple platforms such as iOS and macOS, the biggest announcement will mainly focus on the long-awaited improved Siri along with other intelligence features. As you may know, earlier this year, Apple officially announced that Google’s Gemini will soon power Siri, finally making Apple’s assistant actually smarter (hopefully for good!).
Other than AI-related features, we could actually see several refinements across all of Apple’s platforms, similar to how Mac OS X Snow Leopard became a more “refined” version of the previous Leopard release back in 2009.
This is especially true with the current state of macOS Tahoe. While Liquid Glass was well-designed in iOS 26 and iPadOS, it hasn’t been well-received on macOS Tahoe. Many Tahoe users have complained about how the overall UI (user interaction) has been poorly optimized compared to previous versions, not to mention the several deal-breaking bugs every now and then, so seeing refinements in macOS 27 will be more than a welcome change for long-time Mac users.
With that said, similar to how Snow Leopard dropped hardware support for PowerPC Macs, it has been confirmed that macOS 27 will officially stop support for Intel-based Macs. You could continue to run Intel-only apps on macOS 27 with Rosetta 2, but subsequent versions will mark end-of-life support for those outdated apps on Macs with Apple Silicon.
Hardware
Speaking of hardware, despite indications that we could see a refresh of either the Mac mini or the Mac Studio in the not-too-distant future, I would highly doubt that we would see any new Mac hardware tomorrow. The last time that Apple introduced new Macs at WWDC was in 2023 when Apple debuted the M2 generation of the Mac Studio (M2 Max/M2 Ultra) and the Mac Pro (M2 Ultra), but since then, WWDC has been solely focused on previews of Apple’s next generation of its software platforms.
I wouldn’t get my hopes up on updated home-related products either. Although Mark Gurman claimed that both the updated Apple TV and the HomePod mini were “ready to go,” I’d suspect that Apple could hold them off until Apple finally launches the new and improved Siri in the fall, potentially as a “preview” feature to avoid the backlash from the initial rollout of Apple Intelligence.
Conclusion
We’re guaranteed to see Apple’s next major releases of its software platforms such as iOS and macOS, and it’ll be business as usual: the first developer betas will roll out tomorrow once the opening keynote concludes. Sometime next month, Apple will launch the first public betas for users who would like to try out the new software (though it’s already recommended to install them on secondary or non-production devices). Lastly, after months of patching, the next major versions of Apple’s software platforms will launch in the fall.
While it may not be the most exciting event from a hardware perspective, WWDC is still something to look forward to nevertheless. The opening keynote will commence tomorrow on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PDT / 1:00 p.m. EDT. We’ll certainly cover the entire event, so make sure you bookmark this site, so you’ll get live updates on our front page, and you can also follow us on all of our social accounts. With that said, the show must go on, and here’s to lots of more announcements from Apple to come!
