Apple first introduced the iPhone SE as a budget-friendly option with many of the features from its flagship lineup then in April 2016. Four years later, Apple brought out the second-generation based on the iPhone 8’s outfacing hardware, but with most of the iPhone 11’s internal specs.

Now that 5G has made its way to the iPhone 12 lineup, Apple is looking to bring the new cellular technology to its most affordable model. Even though 5G is still in its infancy, Apple is planning to unveil its next generation of iPhone SE as soon as the first half of 2022.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the design of the new iPhone SE will remain largely the same as the that of the current iteration. Not only the next model will support 5G, but also, it will feature a processor bump.

A larger version of the iPhone SE has long been rumored with a larger display and a Touch ID power button. However, in spite of that, we haven’t heard any new details even in Kuo’s report.
