This month, new TV shows and movies come back to the small screen, as well as new movies, but also, what is arguably America’s favorite sport makes a triumphant comeback.

TV:

  • “iCarly” (2021 reboot): This should be the final month of new episodes of “iCarly” in its new reboot. New episodes premiere every Thursday exclusively on Paramount+.

  • “Star Trek: Lower Decks”: The next season of this Paramount+ Original TV series will premiere on the streaming service on Thursday, August 12, with new episodes coming out on that same day each week.

  • “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (Season 8 premiere): Along with the old FOX TV series “Last Man Standing” ending this year, so will “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” The first two episodes of the final season are set to air at 8 p.m. ET, Thursday, August 12, on NBC. They will be available to stream the day after on Peacock and Hulu. After those two episodes, each episode will premiere each Thursday at the time listed above on NBC, and on the previously listed streaming services the day after.

  • “Workaholics”: Starting on Wednesday, August 25, all seven seasons of this show will be available to stream on Paramount+.

  • “Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo”: While this is technically a TV movie, we’re still going to count it as the TV category because it goes along so well with the original Cartoon Network “Teen Titans” TV series. The good news is that starting today, August 1, the TV movie is now available to stream on HBO Max.

Movies:

  • “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”: Right now, is iconic 1980s film is available to stream on Paramount+ and Netflix.

  • “PAW Patrol: The Movie”: It’s probably not the usual type of movie you would expect to see on here, but it is going to be a big one for young kids and families this year. The good news is if you or your family cannot make it to a movie theater this summer, the movie will be available to stream on Paramount+ starting on Friday, August 20.

  • “The Edge of Seventeen”: This Hailee Steinfeld and Woody Harrelson-starred movie is currently available to stream on Netflix.

  • “The Kissing Booth 3”: The third movie in this original Netflix movie series is set to premiere on Wednesday, August 11.

  • “Rudy”: Perhaps to get you ready for the upcoming NFL and college football seasons, this classic football movie can get you in the spirit for what is to come later this summer and into the fall. You can now stream it on Hulu.

Sports:

  • Dallas Cowboys vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL): To kick off the 2021 NFL preseason is the Hall of Fame game, which be played in Canton, Ohio, where the Pro Football Hall of Fame is located. The game itself will be played at 8 p.m. ET, Thursday, August 5, on FOX.

  • Kansas City Chiefs vs. Arizona Cardinals (NFL): The game will be held in the second week of the preseason this year and will be played at 8 p.m. ET, Friday, August 20, on ESPN.

  • Miami Dolphins vs. Cincinnati Bengals (NFL): What’ll make this game interesting is that it will be on two broadcasters at once. The game itself will be played at 4 p.m. ET, Sunday, August 29, on CBS and streaming live on Paramount+.

  • Nebraska vs. Illinois (College Football): Some schools will be getting a head start on the action this month and that includes these two squads. The game will be played at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 28, on FOX.
