Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on Friday sent a letter to Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook. In that letter, he asked Tim Cook to stop supplying Apple’s products and services in Russia and block access to App Store. Fedorov mentioned that in a tweet from his official handle and has also attached the referenced letter.

In that letter, the Deputy PM said, “I appeal to you (Tim Cook), and I am sure you will not only hear, but also do everything possible to protect Ukraine, Europe, and finally, the entire democratic world from bloody authoritarian aggression – to stop supplying Apple services and products to the Russian Federation, including blocking access to App Store!”.
Fedorov reasoned that by saying, “We are sure that such actions will motivate youth and active population of Russia to stop the disgraceful military aggression proactively.” Apple is currently selling its entire lineup of products through its website and doesn’t have any brick-and-mortar stores.

The Cupertino-based giant’s CEO, Tim Cook, also shared deep concerns regarding the current war-like situation in Ukraine. He added that he wants peace, and also Apple will support local humanitarian efforts.
Yesterday, five major banks in Russia dropped support for Apple Pay due to sanctions posed by the United States. Meta (previously Facebook) has also abstained Russian State Media from running ads globally on any of its platforms.
