We’re less than two months until this year’s WWDC, where we expect Apple to introduce iOS 18, the next major release of Apple’s mobile operating system.

According to AppleInsider, they reported that more enhancements are coming to the Notes app in iOS 18 (and likely in iPadOS 18 too). The first feature will be better integration with Voice Memos. Currently, users can record voice memos within the Voice Memos app, and paste them into the Note app as attachments. With the next version, Apple may be eliminating that extra step by allowing users to record those memos directly from the Notes app.

If you’re writing a lot of equations for your math or physics classes, the next feature will be a big one for you as the source also reported that the Notes app will offer more functionalities that will allow users to easily add various mathematical equations to note. With the current implementation, it can be a bit difficult to typeset mathematical equations with various symbols, exponents, subscripts, etc. Furthermore, the Notes app will allegedly have tighter integration with the Calculator app. My take on this feature is that this will essentially be useful, and having something like a LaTeX editor will certainly help notetakers write down those equations proficiently.

Last but not least, the same source also says that the Calendar app in macOS 15 will be significantly revamped.
