@appleosophyYour MacBook has a hidden ring light built in 💡 macOS 26.2 adds Edge Light — a smart feature that boosts your face lighting during video calls in low light, using just your screen. Would you guys use this feature? 🤔 ⬇️ #Apple #tech #techtips♬ original sound – Appleosophy
If you own a MacBook, you need to try this hidden feature. It’s called Edge Light, and it lets your face in video calls have better lighting if you’re in a dimly lit room, just by the illumination from the MacBook screen.
This feature turns on automatically when your MacBook detects low ambient light, and hovering your cursor over the light will dim the edges. This is a super helpful feature as many of us do video conferencing or video calls wherever we go, and having a built-in lighting solution is just one of those quality-of-life improvements we love in Apple products.
To have this feature, you need a Mac with Apple Silicon running macOS Tahoe 26.2 or later.
