Apple starts offering refurbished models of the 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5), but there’s a catch!

Yesterday, Apple added refurbished models of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the standard M5 chip. This particular model was introduced last October, and it was one of the first Apple products to feature the M5 chip.

Now, there’s something you should keep in mind. Last month, when Apple introduced the MacBook Pro models with the M5 Pro and the M5 Max chips, they now start at double the storage as before: M5 Pro models now start with 1TB of storage, and M5 Max models now start with 2TB of storage. Apple made the same storage bump to the base 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5) from 512GB to 1TB of storage while also increasing the price from $1,599 to $1,699.

So technically, the configuration of 512GB SSD for that M5 14-inch MacBook Pro has been discontinued by Apple, but you can now get that specific configuration in refurbished condition starting at just $1,359.

Certified refurbished models offer the same 14-day return policy and limited one-year warranty as with Apple’s products in new condition.

Alternatively, there’s a deal where Amazon has the 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5) with 1TB SSD for just $1,549. That’s lower than the MSRP the 512GB model was at (before last month’s update).
