Yesterday, Apple not only added refurbished models of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the standard M5 chip, but it also added refurbished models of the latest entry-level iPad.

That model was introduced just over a year ago in March 2025, and it featured the A16 chip and 6GB of memory. That’s a modest improvement over its predecessor, which had the A14 chip and 4GB of memory. Although this iPad doesn’t support Apple Intelligence, it’s still capable of running the iPad version of Final Cut Pro. It also starts with double the storage as before at 128GB, and best of all, it supports all of the latest features that iPadOS 26 has to offer, including the improved windowed apps and other multitasking features that are borrowed from the Mac, such as the traffic-light buttons and the menu bar.

The iPad (A16) in brand-new condition from Apple starts at $349, but you can now get that iPad in certified refurbished condition for as low as $299. That’d be for the Wi-Fi only model with 128GB of storage, but if you need more storage, you could get the 256GB Wi-Fi model (refurbished) for just $379.

We thought that Apple would update the base iPad last month, but Apple updated the iPad Air with the M4 chip instead. However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that the base iPad was still planned to be updated as soon as this month. It could be worth waiting for that update since the rumored A18 chip would bring Apple Intelligence to the base iPad for the first time. But if you don’t care about Apple Intelligence, getting a refurbished iPad (A16) may still be a good option for you.

All refurbished models come with the same 14-day return policy and one-year limited warranty, and they are eligible for AppleCare. Refurbished iPads also come with a new battery and outer shell and are packaged in a new white box.
