Earlier today, a leaker who goes by “Ice Universe” shared images and a hands-on video of the screen protectors for the highly anticipated “iPhone Ultra”, and based on the images posted, the screen protectors indicate two design details for the upcoming foldable.
If you look closely at the image, the screen protector features square corners along the hinge’s side and rounded corners along the opposite side. According to Ice Universe, they claim that the screen protector reflects the shape of the glass panel, rather than the screen itself. Furthermore, they also claim that the iPhone Ultra will continue to feature all symmetrically rounded corners just like with other modern iPhones.
Another design detail that the screen protectors reveal is that the single cutout for the front-facing camera is located on the top-right corner of the outer display. We expect the iPhone Ultra to have Touch ID instead of Face ID, so this screen protector could get away with just using a single cutout for the camera since it doesn’t need the TrueDepth camera system as required by Face ID.
A few days ago, leaker Sonny Dickson shared images of the camera covers for the iPhone Ultra’s camera bump, which suggests that the foldable could come in both silver and indigo shades. Other rumors that we’re expecting for this foldable are a 5.5-inch outer display, a 7.8-inch inner display, the A20 Pro chip, a 5,000-mAh battery, a 48-megapixel dual rear camera system, and 18-megapixel Center Stage cameras on both the inner and outer displays for more versatility.
The iPhone Ultra is expected to make its debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models next month with a starting price of approximately $2,500.
