Apple Pay has changed the way we pay for our items and has made it so that we don’t have to worry about our debit or credit cards getting hacked, especially when making purchases online.
In 2020, there are still some companies that accept Apple Pay in its stores but not on its website. That is a problem and something that needs to be fixed, preferably sooner rather than later.
The addition of Apple Card would be even more of an incentive to get Apple Pay support on these websites and apps since using Apple Card through businesses that accept Apple Pay gets users of it two percent back in Daily Cash. Without it, if the user has to type in their card info manually, then they only get one percent back in Daily Cash. Users of it are probably going to want as much Daily Cash as they can get, giving businesses all the more incentive to accept Apple Pay.
With that said, here is our list of businesses that need and should be accepting Apple Pay on its websites/apps.
- Barnes and Noble: Their stores started accepting Apple Pay a couple of years ago and their website and app still do not accept it. If you accept it in your stores, you need it in your app and website too. Full integration is always a good thing.
- Amazon: Admit it, we all love Amazon and how it has made our lives easier…while not always leaving the best mark on the brick-and-mortar retail business. With that said, it would be great if Amazon would start accepting Apple Pay on its website and app. I personally would start using them more and that them not accepting Apple Pay is literally the only thing stopping me from using them more.
- Books-A-Million: The company does not have the best of apps, but they do have a decent website. I would definitely love to purchase books through them, but won’t do so on their website because they don’t accept Apple Pay. It’s that simple.
- Target: While we are glad that Target has Apple Pay support in its app and retail stores, they still do not accept it on their website. They do accept PayPal as a form of payment, which does help them a little bit when it comes to payment information security.
- FYE (For Your Entertainment): If you have ever been looking for a cheaper than normal place to get DVDs, Blu-rays and CDs from in 2020, FYE has been a good place to do that. Their stores do accept Apple Pay but their website does not, which for me is a problem because of my appreciation for what they sell and how cheap they are, compared to the rest of the competition.
Those are just some businesses that need to be accepting Apple Pay on its websites. I think that from the list above, that Target will soon begin to accept it since they have been very good at working with Apple and customers over the years.
For a while, I thought Barnes and Noble would never do anything for technological, but then they added the Apple Business Chat service (review of it here) to their company, so, that to me says that they have slowly been looking into making their business better for their customers.
