WhatsApp is testing an upcoming feature to iOS that is similar to the one already found on Snapchat.
The messaging app is testing the view-once mode that is considered the biggest feature on Snapchat. The view-once mode ”“ when turned on ”“ lets users make recipients view their messages once and then the latter disappears.
WABetaInfo reported new info on the topic, the website says that WhatsApp released a beta update on Android, and the same is happening on iOS:
“After releasing an update for WhatsApp beta for Android, bringing the possibility to send photos and videos using a view once mode, WhatsApp is finally introducing the same feature for all iOS beta users today, thanks to the 2.21.140.9 beta update from TestFlight.”
The report states that the feature is available to a large number of TestFlight users and is expected to be fully released soon on iOS.
WhatsApp is expected to release many new features, earlier this year the app increased security with WhatsApp Web logging-in. Also back in June, the VP of WhatsApp Will Cathcart, and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that many features are coming to the app:
Arguably the biggest announcement was support for multiple devices, Zuckerberg said it was a big challenge but was on the way, and that WhatsApp planned to roll out multiple device support in a public beta within two months.
