With the hype around next week’s Apple Event, the stock for the 8th-generation standard iPad has been running low with shipping times slipping to up to six-week wait times in several online markets. This further indicates that we could see the next generation iPad as soon as next week.
According to Mark Gurman, he still expects Apple to launch the ninth-generation iPad featuring an upgraded 10.5-inch display with 4GB RAM, A13 chip, and a thinner 6.3mm design.
Apple has updated the low-cost iPad in September for the past two years, and this budget-friendly option remains a super popular choice for students, especially for the back-to-school season. So it’s still feasible that Apple could announce this new iPad and ship it later this month.
We’re also expecting Apple to introduce the first major design to the iPad mini since the original model that follows design cues from both the iPad Air and Pro. If Apple were to announced the standard iPad next week, the company might as well debut the smaller model as well so that it could have all of its iPad announcements in one event.
Apple’s ‘California Streaming’ event streams September 14 10am PDT/1pm EDT. We’re also expecting to see the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, and possibly new AirPods.
