Earlier this year, Apple introduced several new features that offer more in-depth information about your battery health. These were introduced in iPadOS 17.5 With the introduction of the new iPad Air (M2) and iPad Pro (M4), these features make their way to the latest changes. (These features also apply to all iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 models.) The Battery Health information includes Cycle Count, Manufacture Date, First Use, and the option to set the 80% limit on charging.
Now that the latest iPad mini has launched today, Dylan (@DylanMcD8) on X has gotten his hands on the small tablet and has now confirmed that the new iPad mini gets the same Battery Health statistics/settings as on the higher-end tablets that were introduced this year. Sadly, these settings will not appear in the iPad mini 6, but it’s more than a welcome change to see those settings appear in more iPads, and we’ll likely see the same features appear on the next generation of the base iPad.
