Apple is gearing up for another major refresh of its Mac lineup — and this time, it’s all about the M5 chip. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company is preparing updated MacBook Air models, internally codenamed J813 and J815, that are slated to debut in spring 2026. These laptops will headline Apple’s transition to its next generation of Apple Silicon, promising faster performance and improved efficiency.

The new Airs will retain the sleek, ultra-portable design that defines the lineup but will benefit from the performance boost of the M5 chip. Apple is expected to position these laptops as the go-to Macs for most users — a balance of portability, power, and battery life. If history is any indication, the design will likely remain familiar while the internals get a serious upgrade.

But the Air isn’t the only Mac getting attention. Apple is also said to be working on refreshed versions of the Mac Studio and Mac mini, signaling that the company plans to update its entire desktop family alongside the laptop range. These devices will likely adopt the same M5 silicon.

Additionally, Gurman mentions two new external Mac displays, codenamed J427 and J527, currently in development. One of them could serve as a successor to the Studio Display, while the other may target higher-end users — potentially a new Pro Display XDR variant.
