Gurman: Apple to launch ‘at least five products’ going into next month

As you may already know, Apple sent out its invites to select content creators and media press for a ‘special Apple experience’ that will take place in New York, London, and Shanghai on March 4. In Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s weekly edition of his “Power On” newsletter, he expects the upcoming Apple event will be full of new product announcements for three days back-to-back, followed by an in-person experience, similar to when Apple introduced its first Macs with the M4 family of chips back in October 2024 and had an in-person experience afterwards:

  • October 28: iMac (M4)
  • October 29: Mac mini (M4 and M4 Pro)
  • October 30: MacBook Pro (M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max)

So it’s safe to say that Apple will do press releases (and perhaps a series of mini introduction videos) that week, similar to what the company did with its M4 Macs back then.

Gurman expects ‘at least’ five products to debut as soon as the first week of March. Possible candidates are:

  • iPhone 17e, if Apple didn’t announce it sooner
  • iPad (A16)
  • iPad Air (M4)
  • MacBook Air (M5)
  • MacBook Pro (M5 Pro/M5 Max)
  • Revival of the “MacBook” as a new entry-level product
  • Mac Studio (M5 Max/M5 Ultra)
  • Studio Display “XDR”

Gurman claimed that the upcoming entry-level MacBook is likely to be announced that week, giving the invite graphics’ subtle hints. However, he doubts that Apple would announce both the Mac Studio and the Studio Display that week, as Apple would be announcing too many products, so it would make sense to space out those announcements later in this year.

With supplies dwindling for the iPhone 16e, iPad Air (M3), MacBook Air (M4), and MacBook Pro (M4 Pro/M4 Max) as Gurman reported, it couldn’t be a better sign that we’ll see updates on those products very soon. He added that we could see software updates and new chip announcements beyond hardware introductions in the first week of March. So mark your calendars for March 2-4 because this will certainly be a huge week for Apple enthusiasts and everyone who’s covering.
