Apple’s most anticipated foldable iPhone rumored to feature the best battery life ever

Apple is gearing up to launch its first ever foldable iPhone in September of this year, and according to Weibo user known as “Fixed Focus Digital,” that foldable is going to have the biggest battery, in terms of capacity, out of any iPhone to date as it could be at least 5,500 mAh in size, which would even beat the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s capacity at 5,088 mAh.

Keep in mind that other competitors have had inferiorly smaller batteries than the rumored sizes. To put things in perspective, the Google Pixel 10 Pro’s battery is rated at 5,015 mAh, and the Samsung Galaxy Fold7’s battery is rated at 4,400 mAh; if Apple could pack in a battery over 5,500 mAh, that would be a game-changer, and it could raise the bar even higher.

Apple actually put a high-density battery into the iPhone Air, and despite the Air’s thinness, the battery life should last a full day of usage with light to moderate tasks. If you head to the iPhone’s compare page, the video playback (streamed) is rated the same for both the iPhone Air and the previous-generation iPhone 16 Pro. Of course, battery life varies by usage, but with the class-leading efficiency of Apple silicon, it’s still an engineering marvel that the iPhone Air could pack in that much battery, and I’m sure Apple will use the same high-density battery technology for its upcoming foldable iPhone, as that device will certainly be as thin as the iPhone Air when unfolded.
