We’re almost halfway until we expect Apple to debut the iPhone 18 Pro models, and apparently, the upcoming smartphone is in the test production stage, according to Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo. As you may know, it’s necessary for any product to go through a test production stage to avoid any last-minute hiccups or abrupt changes of plans, especially during mass production. This further reduces the chance of delays or even failed launches. When a device does enter mass production, this means that all design details have been finalized.
Yesterday, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported in the latest edition of his weekly newsletter, “Power On”, that Apple is testing a “burgundy” or “deep red” finish for the iPhone 18 Pro. Given the overall popularity of Cosmic Orange in China, it’s a clear sign that Apple wants to spruce up the colors a bit. The current iPhone 17 Pro uses an aluminum unibody design, which allows Apple to easily anodize bold, vibrant colors on the enclosure. Given that the redesign saw its debut recently, we shouldn’t expect any redesign to the unreleased iPhone 18 Pro.
The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to launch this coming September, and they’re expected to feature the A20 Pro chip, a smaller Dynamic Island, and the C2 cellular modem.
