iOS 11

iOS 11.4 Developer Beta 1 was released on Monday this week and it introduced a bunch of useful, anticipated features, e.g. iMessages in iCloud, brings back AirPlay 2 and introduces a new feature for Stereo Homepod Pairing. On my iPhone 6, the size of the Beta was 273.7mb.

What’s new?

I have noticed some speed improvements on my iPhone 6 especially. The unlocking animation is silky smooth, scrolling from side to side on the multi-tasking page is smooth too. Animations are at their best and for a relatively old device like the iPhone 6, iOS 11 is running quite nicely and smoothly. I have also noticed that loading times for some applications, e.g. Snapchat and Twitter have improved. Another improvement is RAM management as loading and switching to previous applications in the multi-tasking has been a pleasant experience for me.

Specifically speaking, the build number of Beta 1 is 15F5037c on my iPhone 6. Battery life is also great as I am getting around 6 hours of on screen usage time and around 4 – 4.5 hours if I play 30 – 45 mins of 3D/Graphic intensive games such as FIFA Mobile or PUBG.

So how has 11.4 Developer Beta 1 been for you?

(You can now download 11.4 Public Beta 1 as that was released yesterday).
