Tapbots releases new Ivory for Mac Mastodon app

It’s been quite a year for the developers at Tapbots.

Earlier in 2023, the company was essentially forced to shut down its Twitter app Tweetbot due to Twitter eliminating use of third-party apps such as itself and others like Twitterrific, Fenix, and Echofon.

In the meantime, the company had also been working on a third-party app for the social network Mastodon, which does have some similarities to Twitter. The app is called “Ivory” and its iOS and iPadOS apps released shortly after the shut down of Tweetbot.

As of today, the company’s macOS version of the app has been officially released in the Mac App Store. It is a free app with two in-app subscription tiers.

Those that have previously used Tweetbot for iPhone, iPad, and Mac will find many similarities to that app and Ivory for Mastodon, as well as Ivory for Mac, which I have already previously tested.

The first tier costs $14.99 a year and gives users access to its iPhone and iPad apps and its $24.99 a year tier gives users access to its iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps.
