Apple today released an all-new iPad Air and iPad Mini with the new iPad Air to come with a 10.5-inch design and the iPad Mini offering a 7.9-inch display. Both iPads both offer support with Apple Pencil and both of these iPads also come with an A12 Bionic chip with Apple’s Neural Engine that is additionally available in the iPhone XS and iPhone XR.

Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, had this to say about the new iPads, as well as the current iPad lineup as a whole:

“iPad continues to provide magical new experiences for a growing range of uses where it is the absolute best device, from playing games in augmented reality to note-taking and drawing with Apple Pencil, from streaming HD movies and editing 4K films to learning to develop apps with Swift Playgrounds…Today the iPad family takes two big leaps forward with an all-new 10.5-inch iPad Air that brings high-end size, features and performance at a breakthrough price, and a major upgrade to the 7.9-inch iPad mini, which also brings Apple Pencil, Retina display and the A12 Bionic chip to the many customers that love its compact size.”

With this new release of two new iPads, Apple claims it has the “most complete iPad lineup ever.” Their iPad lineup now consists of the iPad Mini, 9.7-inch iPad, 10.5-inch iPad Air, 11-inch iPad Pro and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

It is unclear if we will see an updated 9.7-inch iPad this year because of the iPads that were announced today. It will still be something that we will be looking for when Apple’s March Event rolls around next week.

Apple’s next event will be on March 25, 2019. To get more details, click here.
